Information you provide

When you create an account, we receive details such as your email, name, company and authentication information. If you use freight planning, saved shipments, quotes, RFQs or pilot requests, the information you submit may include cargo descriptions, origins, destinations, dates, quantities, company contacts, and related notes. Do not submit information you are not authorized to share.

Information collected through use

Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request logs and diagnostic events. Waterline also uses optional website analytics and performance measurements to understand which pages and tools are useful. Browser storage supports account sessions, saved planning preferences and, where enabled, usage measurements.

How information is used

We use information to authenticate accounts, provide requested tools, save user-submitted records, prepare route and quote workflows, respond to pilot inquiries, troubleshoot, secure and improve Waterline, and support billing if a paid service is used. We may send operational emails about accounts and requested services. Commercial outreach should include a way to decline further messages.

Service providers and freight counterparties

Waterline uses third-party infrastructure including Vercel for hosting and performance services and Supabase for accounts and application data. For Freight Decision Brief orders, Stripe collects purchaser contact information and the origin, destination, and cargo/load entered at checkout. Waterline uses these details to fulfill the requested research. Payment-card credentials are processed by Stripe, not stored in Waterline's application database. If payment features are used, Stripe may process payment information under its own terms. If you choose to contact a carrier or share an RFQ, the information you elect to provide may also reach that recipient. External websites and carriers have their own privacy practices.

Retention and security

We keep records for operational, contractual, security and legal needs and review deletion requests subject to applicable requirements. We use application access controls and security measures intended to reduce unauthorized access; no online service can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid including credentials, financial account numbers or unnecessary sensitive information in shipment notes.

Your choices

You can change optional analytics preferences here. To request access, correction, a copy, or deletion of account or shipment information, contact us below. We verify account ownership before providing or deleting private records, and review applicable retention obligations. You can also decline future marketing emails by replying to them.

Send from your account email when possible; never include your password.
